Small business enterprises in Egypt wishing to transact business with Amazon Payment Services, a payment processing service in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, have all reasons to do so after the Service provider announced that it will waive all fees for the new businesses.

This latest move is in line with Amazon Payment Services’ mission of providing business with simple, affordable and trusted online payment experiences.

South African regulators have put on notice Communications companies in country who are charging unbearable prices for mobile data, this is after South Africa was ranked 136th worldwide for its mobile data pricing this year in a study that was conducted based on the cost of 1 gigabyte (1GB) of mobile data.

The research was conducted by Cable.co.uk between the month of December 8, 2020 and February 25, 2021, with 6 148 mobile data plans in 230 countries gathered and analyzed.

South Africa’s data costs an average of $2.67 (R38.93) for 1GB of data from a sample of 60 plans measured on February, 25. The study found the cheapest data cost $0.12, while the most expensive was $34.95.

Tobacco farmers in Zimbabwe are positive about this year’s marketing season that was officially opened on Wednesday will surpass the last year’s figures.

This year’s saw an increase in price of tobacco per Kg retailing at 4.30 U.S. dollars from 4 dollars last year.

According to estimates, about 200 million kg of tobacco will be sold this season, as compared to 180 million kg valued at 452 million dollars that were sold last year.

The ravaging Covid-19 pandemic earlier last year 2020 forced the Federal Government of Nigeria to suspend borrowing from International market but with their progressive economic recovery they have since announced plans to re-enter the international debt market this year once again.

Patience Oniha, the Director-General of the Debt Management Office (DMO), revealed this during a Reuters interview on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.

According to the Director-General of the Debt Management {DMO} the country will issue Eurobonds in 2021, with specifics to be published soon and an open bidding procedure for advisors.

Tanzanian billionaire businessman and owner of MeTL Group, a Tanzanian conglomerate Mohammed Dewji has been appointed by South African Cyril Ramaphosa as his Investment advisor.

The African Development Bank is working on a financial facility to support Seychelles in its COVID-19 recovery programme according to a top official of the bank.

During a courtesy call on President Wavel Ramkalawan at State House today April 7, The executive director of AfDB, Cheptoo Amos Kipronoh, said that Seychelles the bank will support the government to heal the economy of its country.

“The facility will try and help Seychelles fully in the recuperation of its economy. I am seeing that the recovery process is going very well and the country has been able to vaccinate 60 percent of its population,” said Amos Kipronoh.

“We are also seeing that the hotel businesses are also recovering and the bed occupancy is now very high. So we are working closely with the government to ensure a strong recovery process so that the economy becomes more resilient,” he added.
