NAIROBI : Barclays Bank of Kenya has appointed veteran accountant Philip Kinisu to its board. Kinisu, a Certified Public Accountant Kenya and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales holds a of commerce degree from the University of Nairobi
He has more than 30 years of experience as a professional accountant and chaired the PwC Africa board until June 2014, overseeing the operations of PwC firms in 16 countries, including Kenya.
Kinisu has also served as honorary treasurer, University of Nairobi and is currently vice chairman of the Africa Population Health and Research Centre.
“Having worked in different countries and cultures, we are counting on his appreciation of the importance of diversity and inclusion to business success, qualities which will help take Barclays to the next level,” board chairman Francis Okomo-Okello said, after welcoming Kinisu to the board.
