Following the closure of Kenya Airways’ runway for repairs, the night flights to Kigali have been rescheduled.
Kigali International Airport’s runway repairs is expected to last two months starting February 2, to March 31, for five hours beginning 2am.
The flights which used to depart Nairobi at 11:20pm local time and arrive 12:45am (Rwanda time) will now depart Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 12.25am (Kenya time) and get to Kigali at 12:50am local time. This time is in consideration of the time differences between the two cities.
In a statement, Kenya Airways assured passengers that the two day flights to Kigali will remain on schedule.
Moreover, “passengers who had already booked to travel on the affected days will be rebooked on the new schedule and notified by the customer relations team.”
Previously, KQ flights to Kigali were direct.
With the adjustment, they will be flying through Entebbe, Uganda, to connect more passengers who are flying to Rwanda and also ensure that the return flight gets to Nairobi early in the morning.
