YMCA Africa has organised an interactive and innovative entrepreneurship programme for over 500 young people.
“This model can be replicated in the counties to enable young people move from despondency to job creators,” said Jared Musima, Kenya YMCA National General Secretary . She added that the programme came at an opportune time when many young people need a source of income.
The programme has been designed to equip them on entrepreneurship, business communication , Information Communications and Technology, soft skills relevant in the job market and business plan writing.
Citi Bank’s Public Affairs Officer for East Africa Maryanne Mwaura noted that the programme will increase their chances of being business owners. She was speaking during the graduation of the first group of graduates.
