The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and African Development have expressed willingness to fund the distribution network of Tanzania’s gas to households.
Tanzania which has been looking for financiers for over three years has said that the two are now ready to fund the project to connect over 30,000 households to natural gas.
Tanzania also plans to have its vehicles switch from consumption of petroleum to natural gas.
The projected estimate for the project is about TSh162 billion. The project is expected to first of all start with Dar es Salaam.
The programe is anticipated to be complete within one year and three months.
