NAIROBI, Kenya, March 1 –  The Kenya Revenue Authority has intercepted 75 kilograms of bhang worth Sh750, 000 at Malingumu, in Isebania.

The bhang was seized last Friday through collaboration between the KRA Customs and Border Control patrol team and the One Stop Border Post (OSBP) police.

The packages of bhang were being ferried by a motorcycle through the Malingumu route from Tanzania.

An Administration Police officer attached to the Assistant County Commissioner’s office sustained injuries when he was attacked by a gang armed with crude weapons while he was interrogating the rider.

The packages were handed over to Isebania Police Station for further investigations.

The suspect escaped but is being pursued.
