Tanzania, Jan 30 – Entrepreneurs have been challenged to grab Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme for Africa (TEEP) as an avenue to access financial help for their newly emerging viable businesses, to market their businesses and reach their audience. United Bank for Africa (UBA) is aware of the challenges in securing finance faced by such businesses and believes this is an opportunity they can harness.
Already, close to 66 Tanzanians have benefited from the programme and more entrepreneurs are set to enjoy the benefits of the same. The entrepreneurial culture has been a fundamental tradition that youth especially have been asked to imbibe and venture in to curb the issue of unemployment in Africa.
3,000 individuals have been helped by the foundation that seeks to help potential entrepreneurs in Africa bring their dreams to reality. Such ventures will open doors to new businesses that in turn will open room for more employment opportunities and eventually improve the economy status.
Entrepreneurs need to submit their business proposals in the hope of being among the chosen one for the heavenly opportunity. Tanzanian entrepreneurs will hope to have a better chance in securing a spot in the programme in comparison to last year. With the rapid population growth, youth need to open their minds to new opportunities and not over rely on the government.
A number of business ideas do not materialize due to lack of funds and a number of business personnel lack credibility to access loans from financial institutions and other money lenders. Some projects require mountain of money that may not be available at that time, and their delay kill the potential dreams.
This avenue, however, will see that entrepreneurs are able to create networks and meet potential investors as well as clients. This is the platform multi billion projects could emanate from that could shift economies around. It offers opportunities to various fields of play which may benefit from the existing of new businesses.
Building of networks open the eyes of the players and help them view their visions more profoundly. Connections along the way could come in handy for them to enter new markets and widen their reach in pastures new. The trainings they get are vital to sharpen their skills and equip them more in their business journey.
At times lack of enough information could tear businesses apart and shut down firms or companies that could soar higher. Adequate skills to handle business matters would aid in making life changing decisions for the projects.
