IPhone losing out to Tecno in Africa
Tanzania, March 26 – World’s most powerful personal handset is struggling to keep up the pace with Asian mobile company Tecno as it battle for influence in the East African territories. According to Jumia, the Asian brands are selling more than the Western brands. There are a number of factors that could lead to this conclusion despite the fact that some Western mobile companies have an upper hand in technology.
Tecno has established itself as the leading brand in Tanzania, and it would be hard for other mobile companies competing for the space. Infinix and Samsung are among the other Asian brands that have been significantly in demand in the East African region, having great success in their business. The journey for Apple products continues to be a milestone despite a hungry market for such a gadget.
The economic status of the country has been a fundamental figure with traders weighing the pros and cons for the product. They look at the taxes they would pay and the demographic of their audience. They retrospect the profits and losses government by the economic atmosphere prevailing at the time. However, it seems regardless of the economic conditions Asian mobile brands have been in demand due to their availability and simplicity.
For a country like Tanzania, the level of technology and economic conditions may not be as favorable for the market to crave for the iPhone product. IPhone has a rather distinctive market for specified cities and their reach to the African market, especially the sub-Saharan zone could prove to be a challenge.
The others, as Lenovo have been able to meet the needs of their customers and continue to reign at the helm of mobile economy in their respective countries. Tanzania has been a loyal client to the Asian brands.
