MTN Rwanda launches a 4G LTE to mobile phones that support the technology allowing customers to make voice calls and use mobile data on 4G LTE network.
This advanced technology allows for customers to have a 4G experience when making calls and on internet usage. The technology allows for the voice and data to stay in the same network, resulting to consistent high surfing speeds and it also has a positive impact on phone calls.
MTN Chief Executive Officer, Gunter Engling said, “We at MTN aim to provide our customers with the best possible user experience by adapting new technologies such as the introduction of 4G LTE on mobile devices.”
Han-Sung Yoon (Patrick), Chief Executive Officer of olleh Rwanda networks, the 4G LTE infrastructure provider commented, ”olleh commends MTN Rwanda for this achievement and pledges continuous support towards more innovative solutions based on 4G LTE Technology.”
For customer to have the full MTN experience, the existing MTN subscribers will have to upgrade their SIM cards to a 4G SIM card for only 1,000Rwf and get a 4G-capable device, all of which are available at any MTN Service Centre across the country. Once connected to the 4G network, customers will dial *345# and select the 4G bundle to purchase a daily, weekly or monthly pack.
The 4G LTE technology is the 4th Generation Long-Term Evolution internet network offers the fastest wireless communication on high-speed data for mobile phones and devices such as modems and routers.
