A mobile App that allows users to call for motorbikes anywhere around Dar es Salaam. The App has been launched by Taxify, Europe’s leading ride-sharing platform.
The Dar es Salaam launch of the new app follows Taxify’s own recent introduction just two months ago.
“Taxify Bajaji is a new category in the Taxify application in Dar es Salaam that connects a rider to a bajaji in minutes,” said Shivachi Muleji the Regional Expansion Manager.
“We are very thrilled to introduce this product for the first time in Dar es Salaam and it is our great hope that it will receive great support from the people. We believe that it resonates well with the culture in this city and that this category will provide an easy and affordable transportation option for trips around town,” he added.
The fares for Taxify Bajaji are as follows: base fare TZS 750, TZS 350 per Km, TZS 75 per minute, while the minimum price is TZS 2,000.
The Taxify app is available on both Android and iOS devices and has unique features such as sharing your ETA with a friend or loved one while on trip, fare estimation before trip as well as being able to reach customer support from within the application.
For his part, Remmy Eseka, Taxify Operations Manager in Tanzania said: “As a technology company, Taxify is always looking at ways in which we can innovate to provide better solutions in transportation.”
“We are always evolving and respond quickly and effectively to the needs of different markets where we operate. This is how we are able to stay ahead of competition and be the ride-sharing application of choice in all our markets,” he added.
Bajajis have become a highly popular mode of transport in major cities including Dar es Salaam because they navigate through traffic jams much easier and faster than cars.
Their increased use in Dar es Salaam has seen technology companies such as Taxify improvise ways of delivering this service to a much larger number of people who prefer this mode of transport.
Taxify is one of the fastest growing companies in Europe and Africa with over 3M customers in more than 20 countries.
