Digital Markets Act defines gatekeepers as large online platforms that can create a bottleneck in the digital economy 

Google under regulators' scrutiny for its services as well, including Google Play and Chrome 

EU Commission confirms receiving the letter but declines to comment further 

Apple previously stated iMessage does not constitute an important gateway due to its smaller scale compared to other messaging services 

Commission has until February to reach a decision on the matter.
