An undisclosed number of electronic devices were stolen from the Apple Store in downtown Naperville Monday morning after a car was driven into the business and took down its glass front doors, police said.

A beige Hyundai Elantra struck the retailer about 5:55 a.m., giving three suspects access to the building, where they took a number of electronic items and fled in a dark-colored SUV, police spokeswoman Kelley Munch said in an email.

Police received a 911 call about the incident at 6:05 a.m. and arrived to find the car — believed stolen out of Lisle — abandoned at the store’s front entrance at 120 W. Jefferson Ave., Munch said.

No one was was believed injured in the crash and Munch was unable to provide a description of the suspects as of Monday afternoon.

The investigation is ongoing, she said. Apple could not immediately be reached for comment. A police officer responding to the incident Monday morning,

who did not identify himself, said the car drove “straight through the parking lot” across the street from the store before crashing into the retailer.

Apple’s Naperville location has been the target of several robberies, thefts and burglaries since 2010, according to published reports.
