Meta unveiled its Smart Glasses in collaboration with Ray-Ban on Wednesday, along the Meta Quest 3. The Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses let users livestream videos to Facebook and Instagram using a 12-megapixel camera sensor and an LED unit.
It's important to note that the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are do not support AR/VR and hence come without a display.
The Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses with standard lenses start at $299 (about Rs. 24,999), while polarised lenses and transition lenses start at $329 (Rs. 27,400) and $379 (about Rs. 31,500) respectively.
Meta announced that the glasses would be available in 150 different custom lens frame and lens design combinations.
Currently, the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are available for pre-order in 15 countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, and various European countries. The sale for these glasses will begin on October 17. So far, Meta hasn't revealed the launch date of the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses for India.
The Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are equipped with a 12-megapixel sensor and an LED light. This light doubles as a recording indicator and is placed within two circular cutouts on sides of the glasses frame.
The camera can take images in the the following resolution - 3,024 x 4,032 pixels. It can also shoot 1080p videos of up to 60 seconds. Using the Meta View app, these media files may be shared to other image/video sharing apps.
