• Ventures interested in applying for the Investment Showcase can submit applications here by 2nd May.
  • To qualify, the ventures must be African, have at least one African co-founder or be headquartered in Africa.
  • They must also offer a product or service designed for scalability, and be able to present in person at the Africa Tech Summit (ATS) London.

On June 7th, 2024, the Africa Tech Summit (ATS) London will convene at the London Stock Exchange for its eighth edition, continuing its tradition of fostering business and investment opportunities in Africa and around the world.

This tech conference, known for its dynamic engagement and insight into the African continent’s tech industry, is poised to attract over 300 African and international tech leaders, policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs, and corporates.

The summit’s key event, the Investments Showcase, is inviting African tech ventures to present their business models to a curated audience of potential investors and business partners.

Scheduled for the same day, this segment aims to bridge the gap between innovative startups and investment resources, offering a platform to garner exposure and secure critical funding for growth.

Pitching at the Africa Tech Summit (ATS) London

One such success story is Abraham Itule, Founder and CEO of Safiri, a Tanzanian transport and logistics startup. Itule’s compelling pitch at the 2023 summit captured the imagination of investors, leading to a significant financing round. His company, Safiri, has notably improved the way people and goods move across Africa, leveraging technology to streamline operations and enhance service delivery.

Reflecting on his experience, Itule noted, “Coming to the summit, I had no expectations, which made the outcome even more rewarding. Connecting with an investor who believed in our vision and decided to back our startup was a game-changer. This investment has been instrumental in propelling us to the next stage of our growth, enabling us to scale our operations and increase our impact on African businesses and travelers.”

The excitement and apprehension of pitching at such a prestigious even were palpable for Itule and his team. “We approached the Africa Tech Summit in London with a mix of emotions, as it was our first time presenting to such a large audience. ATS provided more than just a stage; it offered us a launchpad into realms we had only aspired to reach,” he added.

Participation in the Investment Showcase is not just about securing funding; it also involves extensive networking opportunities. Selected ventures gain the advantage of being featured in the summit’s investment deal book, which further enhances their visibility to a broader array of potential investors.

To qualify for this opportunity, ventures must meet specific criteria: they must be African, have at least one African co-founder or be headquartered in Africa, offer a product or service designed for scalability, and be able to present in person at the summit.

Aside from the Investment Showcase, ATS London 2024 will offer a variety of sessions that promise to be both informative and insightful. Attendees can look forward to keynotes, fireside chats, panel discussions, breakout sessions, masterclasses, and extensive networking opportunities.

These sessions are designed to dissect various facets of Africa’s technological and innovative ecosystem, addressing current challenges and identifying future opportunities.

Where to make applications for Investment Showcase

The Africa Tech Summit London has established itself as a crucial platform for stimulating technological innovation and investment across the continent. By connecting the brightest minds in the African tech ecosystem with global investors and influencers, the summit not only highlights the continent’s potential but actively contributes to its economic growth.

As the date approaches, the excitement builds for what promises to be another landmark event in Africa’s tech innovation and entrepreneurship value chain.
