Digital payment platform iPay has joined forces with Visa, a world leader in digital payments, to introduce Visa’s Tap-to-Phone technology to simplify digital payments for merchants and customers.

Dubbed Tap Ulipe, the solution is integrated into a sleek, portable, internet-enabled MobiGo 2 device, comparable in size to modern smartphones. It offers merchants many solutions beyond traditional payments without investing in clunky POS machines.

In addition, merchants can also download the Tap to Ulipe app from the Google Play store on their Near-Field-Communication (NFC) enabled smartphones to accept contactless payments.

iPay is one of the first digital payment platforms in the country to work closely with Visa on the rollout of Phone technology, putting the firm at the forefront of innovation in the digit payments industry.

The tech is simple to use with zero maintenance, enhancing convenience in accepting multiple customer payment methods. It also has a Free fee for applicants who take up the MobiGo 2 device during phase one of the roll-out.

Merchants will also get access to credit from iPay’s finance partners and short-term working capital as they run more transactions through iPay Tap to Phone devices.
