Cloud-based HR management platform ElevateHR Africa has appointed Kennedy Nyabwala as the new CEO following its early stage funding by From Here Ventures.

Nyabwala has ten years experience in the tech startup space having worked in leading tech companies in Africa. Previously, he was Global Head of Logistics at MarketForce, and he’s founder of one of the leading logistics startups in Africa, Bwala.

Taking Elevate HR into new heights

His career journey started as a brand ambassador with OLX. He quickly rose through the ranks to be the Head of Insights in Africa. Kennedy then joined Copia Global as the Head of Strategy and Customer growth and later founded logistics startup Bwala

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Kennedy to our team,” said Mark Karake, Co-founder and Board Chair at ElevateHR. “His track record of success in driving growth, innovation and leadership in tech companies will be instrumental in taking ElevateHR to new heights.

One of the signs of a growing ecosystem is when we begin to find amazing individuals with the right experience to work with. Nairobi’s startup scene is on a march.”

ElevateHR is a cloud-based HR management platform. The system is designed to seamlessly integrate various HR functions for both administrators and employees, providing a seamless approach to personnel management. (https://artandhistory.org/)

ElevateHR offers modules in payroll

ElevateHR offers modules in payroll, salary advance, leave management, and performance management among others. Their goal is to develop innovative solutions that assist organizations in managing their people better and succeeding in the 21st century.

“It is with great honor that I accept this appointment as the CEO of ElevateHR. This comes at an exciting time as we prepare to scale the brand throughout Africa with the aim to  help companies grapple with automating Human Resources  (HR)functions.”

“It’s amazing how many organisations are still using paper-based processes for information such as personal details, time-off requests, performance, salary amendments and payroll changes. Our platform can help reduce the bottlenecks in a bid to equip the human resource team to concentrate on their key functions,” noted Nyabwala.

Some of the common HR problems facing businesses include payroll processing, which is done on excel. Other tasks such as leave management, performance and appraisal are largely done mannually. Equally, onboarding, and offboarding are largely not automated in many settings.

On average, HR spends over 40 percent of their time on repetitive tasks as a result of manual operations, which are time-consuming, inefficient and expensive.

ElevateHR Africa is backed by local investors and has recently been funded by From Here Ventures, an early-stage venture fund that invests in transformative companies in Africa.
