International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, announced that it will co-host the AFRICA CEO FORUM 2020.

IFC’s support for the event shows its increasing commitment to help Africa’s governments, businesses, and entrepreneurs overcome challenges, increase trade, create jobs and drive innovation.

The Africa CEO Forum will be held on March 9 to 10 next year in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

It is the leading international conference dedicated to supporting private sector-led growth on the continent.

The upcoming 8th edition of the AFRICA CEO FORUM will focus on regional integration, the impact of technological advances, infrastructure development and jobs.

It will also cover other areas relevant to unlocking the continent’s economic potential and helping improve lives.

IFC which has co-hosted the FORUM since 2018, is at the centre of discussions on these and other development topics which will help drive economic transformation in the region.

IFC CEO, Philippe Le Houérou, said, “These are exciting times for Africa as it moves towards a continent-wide free trade area, rapidly adopts mobile technology, and works to address longstanding infrastructure and jobs challenges.

African presidents, vice-presidents, international investors, the region’s top CEOs, policy-makers and young people are scheduled to attend and present their unique perspectives on Africa’s economic future.

This year’s forum was held in Kigali, Rwanda with1, 800 participants from 70 countries.

President of the Africa CEO Forum, Amir Ben Yahmed said, “Our ability to mobilize leaders at the highest level makes the Africa CEO Forum the platform of choice for public-private dialogue, which is essential to enable our continent to achieve balanced economic development.”

As co-host of the Africa CEO Forum 2020, IFC will use its expertise as the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets to develop informed discussions on various development topics.

Since 2018, the FORUM has hosted the Women in Business Annual Leadership Meeting which is devoted to women business leaders.

Its aim is to increase the representation of women in decision-making positions on the continent. The Forum launched the Africa CEO Network, which brings together business leaders in Africa in 2019.

The Africa CEO Forum is committed to offering concrete and innovative solutions to help Africa and its companies move forward.
