The 8th Angel Fair Africa (AFA) will feature a panel of all-female investors and entrepreneurs building on the organisation’s  2016 all-female investors panel according to a press release from the organisation.

The 8th Angel Fair Africa (AFA) will be held on 5th November 2020 under the theme “doing deals in a virtual environment.”

According to the statement, the investor’s panel will host Hannah Subayi, Partner of Dazzle Angels, Evelyne Dioh, CEO of WIC Capital, Lelemba Phiri, Partner of Enygma Ventures and Maya Famodu, CEO of Ingressive Capital moderated by Salimatou Diallo, Partner of SD Avocats.

While the Entrepreneurs panel will host  Magatte Wade CEO of Skin to Skin, Jamila Zomah CEO of Africa Dish Out, Isseu Diop Sakho CEO of Mburu and Sassoum Niang CMO of InTouch SA – moderated by Eva Sow, Director of i4Policy.

“The Africa investment and entrepreneurial ecosystem is maturing to the point where we have strong participation of women across the entire value chain, so our all-female panels are meant to showcase this important development,” said Eric Osiakwan, Co-Founder of Angel Fair Africa.

According to the statement, this year’s investors panel consists of most active investors during the COVID-19 pandemic. “For example, Maya Famodu closed her $10M Seed Fund during the pandemic whiles Lelemba Phiri, Evelyne Dioh and Hannah Subayi have all made significant investments during the period – their panel would therefore focus on how they did it and the lessons learnt.” The statement read in part.

The entrepreneur’s panel consists of women who defied the pandemic to grow their businesses sighting an example of Jamila Zomah whose Africa Dish Out saw 44 per cent growth and Isseu Diop Sakho of Mburu who actually got money during the pandemic both of whom will share their stories on the panel.

According to Angel Africa Fair, the lockdown put in place as a measure to prevent the proliferation of the pandemic, created a positive domino effect which saw Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) picking pace across the continent. This, therefore, made the organization replace their Exit panel with an M&A which will host Endre Opdal, CEO of HotelOnline, Dare Okundjou, CEO of MSF Africa, Gregory Rockson and CEO of mPharma who will share their recent M&A activities moderated by Winnie Mwangi, a VC and Impact Investment Professional from Kenya.
