The digital payments company, DPO Group, has announced three new partnerships;

  • Mastercard in Ghana.
  • Bank of Kigali in Rwanda to support the merchants’ e-commerce needs and,
  • DPO Group has acquired a license from the Central Bank of Nigeria

DPO’s partnership with Mastercard will enable businesses in Ghana to offer their customers more superb choices and convenience by accepting digital payments in the currency of their choice, including mobile money.

The partnership offers seamless and secure payments via e-wallets that function locally and abroad. The two businesses recently collaborated to deliver a training session for entrepreneurs in the country.

The partnership of DPO with the Bank of Kigali will allow the offering of digital payment services to its existing business customers. Many new online merchants will join the bank to take advantage of the new service by DPO.

On February 04, 2022, the Central Bank of Nigeria granted a license to One Payment Limited, a subsidiary of DPO Group, to provide certain types of payments services to businesses across Nigeria. The licence enables DPO Group to operate as an independent payment solutions services company in Nigeria, as it does across over 20 other nations in Africa.

The licensing follows a solid end to 2021, which saw DPO partner with a global leader in travel technology, Amadeus. Customers can now accept local payments, including via mobile money and card payments, allowing international airlines to operate locally and African airlines to expand globally. As a result of the partnership, DPO is connected to multiple regional and international airlines via Amadeus’s airline passenger system.

DPO Group plans to Further extend its growth in 2022, targeting new product innovation and territory launches.

The increased partnerships momentum follows the 2021 landmark acquisition by Network International, a globally renowned facilitator of e-commerce in the Middle East and Africa region.

Network International acquired 100 per cent of DPO Group, which continued to operate under the same brand in existing territories. The company operates in 21 countries on the continent; Network International will increase its presence throughout Africa as it becomes one of the fastest-growing payments markets globally.

Following the acquisition, DPO Group has increased its operations in new markets in Africa, partnering with businesses in significant African territories, from local businesses to continental airlines.

DPO began this year with more than 60,000 active registered merchants. The group targets to increase this number through tactical partnerships and new territory launches.  The increased partnerships will allow customers to access efficient e-commerce and payments services through DPO Group’s potent platform.
