The Kenyan government is in discussion with the Chinese government for the second phase funding of Vocational Education project.
The China – Kenya Vocational Education Cooperation Project is estimated to cost $284 million to cover equipments to required by colleges and universities.
The project is expected to introduce Chinese faculty and teaching materials, information technology, facility training, theoretical training and practical training.
The education solution package will cover disciplines of national, industrial developing such as machinery engineering, electrical and electronics and automation control.
During the first of the project, 10 technical training institutions upgraded at a cost of $30 million and has trained over 15, 000 local personnel.
The project seeks to bridge the unemployment gap and expand opportunities in the blue collar jobs sector.
