Born on November 8, 1966, in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, Scotland, Gordon James Ramsay was five years old when his family moved to England and grew up in Stratford-upon-Avon. They are four siblings and he is the second of them. Due to his father’s profession, his family moved frequently when he was a child. At one time his father was an alcoholic and a womanizer. At the age of 16, Ramsay left his family to live in his apartment. Ramsay was good at football in his teen years but his playing days were shortened by injuries. At the age of 19, he enrolled in a Hotel Management program at North Oxfordshire Technical College.

Gordon Ramsay owns a total of $ 220 million as of 2021. However, according to the episode, he charges around $ 223 000. Apart from this, Gordon is expected to earn $ 40 million a year. Ramsay has a reputation for being angry, fierce, and abusive. He often scolds competitors for their cooking skills. Between June 2017 to 2018, he earned more than $ 60M. During the same period the following year, he earned $ 65M.

In July 2019, Ramsay sold a 50% stake in his American company to Lion Capital. Lion capital aims to spend $ 100M to launch 100 Gordon Ramsay restaurants in the US between 2020 and 2025.

Ramsay began working at the Wroxton Hotel in the mid-1980s as a commission chef. He then operated a kitchen together with a 60 seat dining room at Wickham Arms.

He moved to London and worked in several restaurants before earning his prestigious job and working for Marco Pierre White at Harvey’s. He lived at Harvey’s home for almost three years before becoming embittered by White’s anger, exploitation, and violence. Ramsay then decided to focus on French food and continued to work for Albert Roux and Le Gavroche in Mayfair. It was there that he met Jean-Calude Breton, now his maitre d-hotel at the Gordon Ramsay Restaurant.

After a year working at Le Gavroche, Roux invited Ramsay to work with him as his second number at the Hotel Diva, a resort in the French Alps. Ramsay moved to Paris after working at a ski resort, to work with Michelin-star chefs Guy Savoy and Joel Robuchon. For another three years, he continued his training in France only.

Ramsay then spent a year a week working as a private cook on a cruise ship. He was offered the position of chief chef upon his return to London, for three-star chef Pierre Koffman’s La Tante Claire at Chelsea.

Shortly afterward, his former boss Marco Pierre White offered him the position of cook at Rossmore, with a 10% share in the business. 14 months later Ramsay welcomed, renamed the Aubergine restaurant, and won his first Microsoft star.

In 1997, Aubergine had won its second Microsoft star. Due to disagreements about where the business was headed, Ramsay left the partnership In 1998. That same year, Ramsay opened his restaurant, Gordon Ramsay, in Chelsea, London.

In 2001, the restaurant received its third star Microsoft. In doing so, Ramsay became the first Scotland person to complete the game. From here, his empire grew rapidly. He opened and closed many prestigious restaurants, presenting his U.S.-based TV series. ‘Hells Kitchen’, and maintains his regularity on the Food Network.

He now has restaurants around the world, including Dubai, New York, London, Tokyo, Ireland, and Canada.

Gordon Ramsay’s debut on TV in the 2000s in two books called Boiling Point and Beyond Boiling Point.

In 2001, he appeared in Faking It, helping a former chef learn the trade tools. That episode of Ramsay won BAFTA in 2001 with Best Factual TV Moment.

In 2004 he starred in a British TV series called “Hell’s Kitchen” and “Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares”.

In 2005, Fox’s network showed Ramsay to American audiences with the US version of “Hells Kitchen”. Later, the US version of Kitchen Nightmares was also shown on Fox.

In 2010, Ramsay was the producer and judge for the American version of MasterChef.

He has also hosted Ramsay’s Best Restaurant series, the first series to be produced by his own production company named “One Potato Two Potato”.

In 2010, Ramsay joined other big-name chefs in the 2010 series, The Big Fish Fight, where he and other chefs spent time on a fishing boat to raise awareness about unnecessary dumping of fish.

In 2012, with the same format as “Kitchen Nightmares”, Ramsay appeared in his fourth Fox series called “Hotel Hell”.

Real estate

In 2012, Ramsay bought a home in Bel-Air for $ 6.75M. With five bedrooms, a swimming pool, six bathrooms, and a luxurious kitchen, the house is built on a 7,413-square-foot area. Gordon also owns a home in London that he bought in 2002 for $ 3.5M. Ramsay owns three other buildings in England’s coastal town of Fowey combined that cost about $ 13M.

The most impressive of his collection in Fowey is the $ 6M goods he purchased in 2015. He spent a lot of money on repairs to installing a large swimming pool with a clear wall facing the sea.
