sudan

A new dawn is unfolding in the Israel-Arab relations World as Sudan is but a few ink drops away from becoming the third Arab country to normalize ties with Israel this year alone.

International media, Associated Press confirmed that a senior Israeli delegation was in Sudan earlier this week. Backed with high profile U.S. diplomatic mission, the meeting is believed to have been the final touches to normalize ties between the age-long ‘rivals.’

The development comes in the backdrop of Sudan’s interim government signing a pact with the U.S. that has successfully removed the country from the U.S. list of

UAE Emirates Airlines

UAE based Emirates Airlines has inked an agreement with Airlink which has paved way for it to enter the Southern African market. The pact with regional airline Airlink is part of Emirates ongoing major expansion in the region even though the Dubai-based company has been cutting off various routes around the World owing to the Covid-19 threat.

The development comes but weeks after South Africa’s state-owned airline, South African Airways, failed to raise the $591 million it needed to bail itself out of the corruption and mismanagement allegations that it was facing.

Earlier this year in June, the SA government had issued a statement that it would step in to bailout the company but on September 30th, media was ablaze with reports of the company shutting down its doors, pending government intervention.

With such a big player out of the picture, it only makes sense that Emirates, …

The move serves to take their banking and financial services closer to an area that is largely underserved.

Strategically situated on the shores of Lake Victoria, Mwanza City is home to 13 fish processing factories that process about 1,065 tonnes of fish per day, a great investment opportunity for a bank.

“We are all aware that the development of SMEs is the central component of economic growth, especially in the fishing, mining and agricultural sectors as they provide employment opportunities to the people and contributor to the country’s GDP. We hope that the bank’s presence in our region will impose itself as a credible partner that can effectively contribute to this economic and financial resilience in Mwanza,” commented Mwanza Regional Commissioner, John Mongela during the launch.

When Covid-19 hit the World, the West assumed that Africa, poor, dirty Africa, will be washed down the drains, through filthy open sewage ways and into the depths of the Earth, again they were wrong about the Motherland.

One of the World’s richest men, Bill Gates, predicted that ten million lives would be wiped out by the virus. The assumption was that Africa will not be able to respond appropriately and fast enough, hell, how could they, after all the US and all of Europe had failed.

However, Africa proved all of them wrong, Africa was fast, Africa was precise and Africa was willing to change. Overnight, sanitizers appeared in every doorway, buckets of water and soap greeted you at every entrance, no more hugging, no handshakes, the crowded busses were brought down to level seats and borders were closed.

Oil price by month

It is good news for motorists as the energy sector pundits predict oil prices will decrease significantly in October.

Its, even more, smiles for diesel consumers because the latter is expected to drop by as much as 85-cents-per-litre with some reports placing the price drop at an entire 93 cents per litre.

That is not it, paraffin is also anticipated …
