Air Tanzania Company Limited 1Tanzania’s national carrier, Air Tanzania Corporation Limited (ATCL) has signed a deal that will allow passengers across the region (and continent) to purchase tickets digitally via the CRDB Bank digital portal.

In this latest move, Air Tanzania has effectively beefed up its command of the East African skies couple with several interline deals and Air Tanzania is quickly becoming a formidable carrier to contend with.

In the same vein, Air Tanzania also recently launched direct flights to Kenya’s capital, Nairobi. Officially launched on November 26, the new route is but a predecessor spelling more ‘air control’ for the Tanzanian national carrier which this month again extends its wings to Bujumbura, the capital of Malawi.

When you add Ndola city, the business capital of Zambia and Lubumbashi, the commercial capital of the DRC, then you get a whiff of just how fast the Tanzanian national carrier is moving to take over …

The World Bank released the country’s 18th Economic update in the first week of this month.

According to the institution, the change was majorly impacted by improvement in road and bridge building, the acquisition of additional aircraft for the continued revival of Uganda Airlines, and large classified investments.

Uganda Airlines’ partnership deal with tourism board

Uganda Airlines and Uganda Tourism Board signed a memorandum of understanding(MoU) to combine efforts to promote the tourism potential of Brand Destination Uganda in the next three years.

The MoU signing was witnessed by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Leader of Government Business in Parliament, Moses Ali, among others. According to the agreement, the two entities will both develop the tourism industry in Uganda and will work together to promote the country as a destination, its culture, people, environment and attractions.

Uganda Airlines will promote Brand Destination Uganda in all its platforms, in-flight, online and on the ground at its sales offices in airports and cities across the world with Brand Destination Uganda messages, among other commitments.

Through their respective tourism promotional campaigns and platforms, the Uganda Tourism Board will present Uganda Airlines as the most convenient way to travel to Uganda.

Uganda Airlines to expand regional flights to seven - The Exchange

National air service Uganda Airlines is to add three more regional flights to its schedule this month increasing its destination to seven.

Jenifer Bamuturaki the airlines’ commercial director, said the ai shuttle will make its debut flight to Bujumbura, Burundi at a promotional fee of $255 on September 30th and on 11th October it will fly to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania and to Mombasa, Kenya at a cost of $165 and $312 respectively.

These flights will be an addition to the initial routes of Mogadishu, Nairobi, Juba and Dar es salaam.

Ms Bamuturaki said the air carrier is planning to increase the frequency on some of the routes that have a growing number of passengers. The increase in flights will see three daily flights to Nairobi from the initial two flights and two flights to Juba from the initial one flight, which she said will depend on the acquisition of more …
